Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between CJ Hallinan (ranked 3784 p4p, 3912 weight class) and Ty Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, CJ Hallinan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ty Steele! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hallinan tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Steele counters with a one-two to the body. Oooooh!!! Steele has knocked Hallinan down with a huge combo! Steele steps away and waves a wobbly Hallinan back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Steele misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hallinan moves in looking to clinch but Steele pushes him off. This has been an exciting period of action! Good leg kick by Steele. Steele lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Steele connects with an inside leg kick. Steele drives through and clinches with Hallinan against the cage.
Hallinan has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Steele is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Steele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steele leaves Hallinan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Steele gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hallinan working hard to break the clinch. Hallinan is defending well against a takedown attempt. Hallinan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Steele walks away with a smile on his face. Hallinan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CJ Hallinan. That's going to take a lot out of him. A jab from Steele finds it's way through Hallinan's defenses. Steele fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hallinan. Hallinan swings for the body but Steele moves out of range.
Steele lands with a nice combination. Hallinan backs away looking to recover. Steele with a nice calf kick. Steele lands with a thumping leg kick.
Steele shoots in but Hallinan avoids the takedown attempt easily. Steele lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Steele has managed to clinch.
Hallinan gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Steele.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hallinan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Steele after a bit of a struggle. Steele manages to break the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hallinan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Steele on his heels. He'll look to pass Steele's guard now, I'm sure. Hallinan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hallinan wants to pass the guard but Steele is keeping the position. Hallinan trying to control but Steele is working from the bottom. Steele is looking to stand up but Hallinan isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hallinan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Steele wants to stand up but Hallinan is controlling him. Hallinan throws a big right hand that misses. Steele is looking to stand up but Hallinan isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Hallinan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Hallinan is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Steele tries to clinch there but Hallinan circles away.

Hallinan appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Steele tries to clinch up. Steele gets caught flat footed, as Hallinan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Steele looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hallinan is one step ahead there. Steele is trying to hold Hallinan in close to prevent damage but Hallinan has managed to pass into half guard.
Steele is trying to get back to full guard. Steele is positioning himself well to prevent Hallinan advancing to mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ty Steele dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Steele will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hallinan feinted with a counter takedown. Hallinan looks to clinch and Steele counters with a left and a right that stings Hallinan. Steele throws a leg kick but Hallinan sees it coming and moves out of range. Hallinan swats away the attempt to clinch by Steele. Steele doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hallinan counters with a left and a right that stings Steele. Steele jabs Hallinan to the body, keeping him at a distance. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hallinan - that will leave a mark!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hallinan. Steele tries to close the distance and clinch but Hallinan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Steele tries to land a front kick but Hallinan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Steele wants to slow Hallinan down by chopping away at his legs. Hallinan half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Steele takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steele clinches with his opponent.
Steele tries to score a body lock takedown but Hallinan shows good agility there to stay on his feet. CJ Hallinan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ty Steele. Steele is breathing heavily. Hallinan is working for takedown but Steele is calmly controlling the position for now. Steele escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Steele tries to clinch but Hallinan is having none of it. Steele lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Steele shoots for a double leg takedown but Hallinan sprawls well. He's pushed Steele's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Steele is looking to chop away at Hallinan's legs. A low kick from Steele misses and Hallinan counters with a takedown into side control. Steele tries to improve position but can't. Hallinan trying to control the action but Steele is working from the bottom. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Steele has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steele is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steele being controlled for a moment. Steele tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Steele is looking to improve his position but Hallinan isn't that keen on the idea. Hallinan controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele is trying to stand up. Hallinan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Hallinan prevents Steele from getting the reversal. CJ Hallinan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hallinan trying to control but Steele is having none of it. Hallinan working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hallinan avoids the attempt from Steele to control. BOOM! Hallinan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hallinan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hallinan trying to control but he's not successful this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
CJ Hallinan dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Steele connects with a leg kick. Steele turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Steele is looking to clinch but Hallinan is avoiding it.
As Steele looks to move away, Hallinan throws a big counter combo but Steele just gets out of the way. Some wild striking there from Steele.
Steele thuds a left hand into Hallinan's body. Steele fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. No luck for Hallinan with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steele lands a high kick!
Nice takedown defense from Hallinan. No joy for Steele on that attempt. Hallinan fails with a takedown attempt. Steele lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Steele takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hallinan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steele as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for CJ Hallinan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hallinan shoots in but no luck this time. Steele clinches up against the cage. Steele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Steele's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Steele lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Steele instigates a clinch. Steele pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hallinan is defended easily by Steele.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele dives in for a single leg takedown but Hallinan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Steele lands with a nice body punch. Steele moves into range and clinches up with Hallinan. Steele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Steele scores with a push kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steele throws a head kick that misses and Hallinan counters with a head kick. Hallinan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Steele defends it nicely. Steele throws a sloppy head kick and Hallinan moves out of range easily. Hallinan sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Hallinan slips a jab and a cross from Steele.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hallinan. Steele feints the counter takedown. Ty Steele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Steele moves in looking to clinch but Hallinan pushes him off. Hallinan moves out of range of the body kick. Hallinan misses with a takedown attempt - Steele sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Steele throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Steele fails with a takedown attempt. Steele stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Steele wants it to stay on the feet. Steele has closed the distance and engaged Hallinan in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in the clinch, Steele scores with a nice short uppercut. Steele breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hallinan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Steele defends well and Hallinan ends up having to push Steele into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Steele pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Crunch! Steele slams his shin into Hallinan's torso. Hallinan avoids a kick to the body.
Steele darts in and clinches Hallinan up against the cage. Steele is trying to break the clinch but Hallinan is controlling him. Hallinan jumps guard but Steele turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Steele manages to break the clinch.
Steele throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Steele throws a nice outside leg kick. Some wild striking there from Steele.
And that's the end of the fight! Ty Steele comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Steele has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
