PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andres Anderson (ranked 3969 p4p, 5171 weight class) and Jak Mora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mora has chosen Nikes On My Feet as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andres Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jak Mora!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Anderson.
Mora shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anderson sprawls well. Anderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mora gets slowly back to his feet.
Anderson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mora sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anderson somewhat.
Sloppy strikes from Mora. Those never looked like landing.
Mora misses with a few strikes there.
Anderson misses with a takedown attempt - Mora sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson connects with a body shot that sends Mora's belly button to the back.
Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mora as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andres Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Anderson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mora.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anderson checks the leg kick.
Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.
Mora throws a series of punches but Anderson moves out of range.
Mora keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mora stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mora wants it to stay on the feet.
Mora throws a right and a left that Anderson avoids nicely.

Anderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Anderson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mora looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Mora has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Anderson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Mora has tightened it up now! Anderson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Jak Mora!
Jak Mora spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
