PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anatoly Zvezda (ranked 2975 p4p, 3998 weight class) and Martino Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martino Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zvezda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zvezda is in Silva's guard.
Silva has momentary wrist control but Zvezda slips an elbow through the middle.
Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zvezda throws a big elbow that misses.

Silva is rocked!
Zvezda gets to his feet and stands over Silva, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Silva felt that one! Zvezda unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Silva from any more punishment!
