Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 24326 p4p, 24034 weight class) and Richard John Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard John Salvacion has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard John Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Salvacion shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Amiga wants to control but Salvacion is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Salvacion is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga keeping hold of Salvacion's head, controlling as best he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salvacion is taking a breather. Amiga says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Salvacion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Amiga enables Salvacion to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Amiga manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Salvacion won't allow Amiga to sweep him here.

Amiga throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Salvacion trying to control the position from guard on top but Amiga is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Salvacion is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Amiga will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Amiga.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Amiga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Salvacion fails with a takedown attempt.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Richard John Salvacion dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Amiga shoots in for a double leg but Salvacion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Salvacion follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Amiga darts in looking for a takedown but Salvacion gets double underhooks and turns Amiga into the cage.
And Salvacion responds with a good body kick, but Amiga manages to step out the way in time.

Salvacion has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Amiga clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Salvacion has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
I would not like to be Amiga right now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amiga looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salvacion doesn't have the hooks in and Amiga manages to turn into his guard.
Amiga's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Amiga pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salvacion is keeping the position for now.

Salvacion wants to sweep here but Amiga controlling him for the moment.

Amiga is looking to pass into half guard but Salvacion pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Salvacion is in guard.

More stalling from Salvacion.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Amiga is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Salvacion.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Richard John Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Salvacion tries for a takedown but Amiga circles away easily
and Amiga counters with a left to the body.
Amiga doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Salvacion makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion fails with a takedown attempt.

Amiga scores with a push kick.
Nice sprawl there from Salvacion as Amiga shoots in.
Salvacion counters with a body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Amiga throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Salvacion was covering up waiting for the punch and Amiga finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Salvacion is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salvacion can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Amiga controls the pace.

Amiga is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Amiga won't allow Salvacion to sweep him here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Amiga gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Salvacion counters with a solid body kick.
Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Richard John Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
