Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jatt Ji (ranked 3972 p4p, 3969 weight class) and Mateo Grmic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jatt Ji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mateo Grmic!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grmic fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Grmic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ji swivels and escapes.

Ji looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Grmic!

Grmic throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Nice takedown defense from Ji. No joy for Grmic on that attempt.
Jatt Ji has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateo Grmic.
Ji will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ji shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Grmic is trying to defend but Ji finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Grmic is staying active underneath Ji, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Grmic is looking to control Ji's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Grmic avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sloppy strikes from Grmic. Those never looked like landing.
Ji stuffs the takedown.
Grmic displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ji.

That was a close round but I would say that Jatt Ji will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Grmic is trying to control the position but Ji postures up.
Grmic might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ji haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ji rushes Grmic and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ji fails to pull guard.

Grmic manages to break the clinch.
Grmic shoots for a takedown but Ji saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Grmic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ji pinned against the cage. Ji gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Grmic gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ji to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Ji sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ji looking to sit in guard and control but Grmic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ji wants to get back to his feet but Grmic is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ji is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Grmic stands up and waves to Ji to follow him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ji throws out a loose jab but Grmic uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jatt Ji will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Grmic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ji sprawls well. Ji wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grmic gets slowly back to his feet.

Ji gets tackled into the cage by Grmic. Grmic maintains the clinch.
Grmic tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ji smiles and moves away.
Ji tries to clinch up but Grmic circles away and keeps his distance.
Ji shoots in but Grmic avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ji.

Ji is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Grmic is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Grmic is trying to control Ji's posture but Ji avoids it.

Ji is trying to get an arm triangle but Grmic is defending well.

Ji working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ji grinds an elbow into Grmic's temple.
Ji tries to stand but Grmic controls the position and pulls Ji into his guard.
Ji trying to control the position from guard on top but Grmic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ji wants to get up but he can't break Grmic's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Grmic is striking but Ji is not phased and passes to half guard.
Grmic wants to get back to his feet.
Grmic throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ji moves into full mount! Grmic won't be happy about that!
Ji landing strikes from the mount and Grmic is in trouble!
Ji avoids the attempt from Grmic to control.

Ji with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ji wants to control the pace but Grmic is squirming around nicely.

Jatt Ji showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ji has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
