PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Corassa (ranked 196 p4p, 534 weight class) and Gunnar Bloodaxe (ranked 32 p4p, 84 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 13 - 2, fighting out of New York, Eduardo Corassa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Bloodaxe!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodaxe lands a lovely overhand right.

Corassa has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Corassa there as he acknowledges the shot.
Bloodaxe thows a leg kick but Corassa checks it
enabling Corassa to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Gunnar Bloodaxe has been cut.
Bloodaxe throws a body kick that misses.
Bloodaxe is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Bloodaxe drops Corassa with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Corassa looks back up at him and smiles so Bloodaxe waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
That kick from Bloodaxe tenderised Corassa's leg. Corassa is trying to keep his angry face on.
Oh Corassa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bloodaxe's coach down at Blacktalians MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Bloodaxe's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Corassa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Corassa cracks Bloodaxe with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Corassa has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bloodaxe to stand back up!
Bloodaxe is still on wobbly legs! Can Corassa finish him?
Bloodaxe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Corassa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Corassa flashes Bloodaxe a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Bloodaxe's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Bloodaxe crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Corassa punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eduardo Corassa!
Our winner, Eduardo Corassa, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
