Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Anderson (ranked 1392 p4p, 1355 weight class) and Edgar Frankies (ranked 190 p4p, 184 weight class). Frankies is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Steady as she goes. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edgar Frankies!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frankies takes the fight into the clinch.
Frankies holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Frankies is trying to drag Anderson to the mat but Anderson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Frankies is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Anderson can't fight it off and eventually Frankies manages to take the fight to the floor. Anderson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Anderson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Frankies presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frankies jumps guard.
Anderson stopping the sweep attempt from Frankies.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson gets to his feet - Frankies follows without any prompting.
Anderson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Anderson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Frankies's head.
Frankies avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Anderson enables Frankies to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Anderson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Frankies trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Anderson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Anderson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Frankies controls the pace.
Frankies must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Anderson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Frankies throws a big elbow that misses.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Anderson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Frankies clinches.
Frankies can't get the takedown.
Frankies manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've been informed that Frankies has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Frankies drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Anderson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Brownie Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Frankies.
Frankies prevents Anderson from breaking the clinch.

Frankies's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Frankies is trying to trip Anderson. He has hold of a leg but Anderson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Frankies persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Anderson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Frankies swings wildly with an uppercut but Anderson uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Anderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Frankies has him pressed against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brownie Anderson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Frankies misses with a left hand
and Frankies takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Anderson jabs Frankies right on the nose. Frankies blinks but takes it well.
Anderson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Anderson works over Frankies's head and body with a nice combination.
Anderson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Frankies on the side of the head.
Nice shot lands for Anderson.

Frankies moves into the clinch.
Anderson is trying to push Frankies away but Frankies has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Anderson tries to break free but Frankies pushes him back against the cage.
Anderson wants to break the clinch but can't.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Frankies controlling the action here for a moment.
Frankies will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Anderson up against the cage.
Frankies has Anderson pressed against the cage, preventing Anderson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Frankies is working for takedown but Anderson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Frankies gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet.

Frankies is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Frankies is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Frankies is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Frankies throws a strike there. Anderson manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Frankies wants to pass to mount but Anderson is defending the position.
Anderson trying to control but Frankies postures up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anderson is trying to stand back up but Frankies is controlling him
Frankies seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Frankies sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Anderson defending well though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brownie Anderson dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Anderson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Frankies moves away from the strike by Anderson.
A little jabbing left from Frankies on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anderson throws a good cross that connects.
Decent striking displayed by Anderson there.
Frankies shoots in but Anderson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Anderson lands a really nice looking cross but Frankies seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson lands with a cross.
Frankies gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Frankies drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Anderson defends it well.
Some wild striking there from Anderson.
Frankies throws a right hand that Anderson ducks under and follows up with a left that Anderson also avoids with ease.
A slow jab from Anderson misses its intended target.
And Frankies tries to counter it with a takedown but Anderson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Nice uppercut there from Anderson.

Frankies closes the distance and pushes Anderson back into the cage.
Frankies is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Anderson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Anderson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Frankies can't get the takedown.
Brownie Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Frankies.

Frankies gets control of Anderson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Frankies will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Brownie Anderson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Anderson gets caught flat footed, as Frankies shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Frankies not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Anderson pulls Frankies in close to his closed guard and prevents Frankies from doing any damage or advancing position.
Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Frankies can do to turn this around?

Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Anderson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Frankies dives into side control.
Brownie Anderson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Anderson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Frankies.
Edgar Frankies has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Anderson is trying to escape the position but Frankies is controlling the position.
Anderson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Anderson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
