The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jiang.
Smith has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jiang.
Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jiang swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Smith walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Smith lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jiang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jiang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Smith scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jake Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jiang stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jiang tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith feints the counter takedown.

Jiang has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jiang tries to work over Smith's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Jiang has Smith pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Smith is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Jiang - that's hurt Smith badly! Oh, another knee lands and Smith is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Smith doesn't seem to be complaining.
