Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wand Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jean Pierre has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre misses with the combination.
Maia misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pierre.
Pierre throws a series of punches but Maia avoids them all with ease.
Pierre slips under a jab from Maia.
Maia gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia avoids the strikes from the bottom by Pierre.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pierre has his takedown stuffed
and Maia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pierre won't be happy with that.
Maia tries for a kimura but Pierre is defending well.

Pierre tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Pierre throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Maia fails to land the takedown.
Maia closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pierre to the mat! Pierre manages to get full guard.
Pierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Let's hope that Maia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pierre is pressing down on Maia's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierre is trying to control the position but Maia postures up.
Maia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Wand Maia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Maia winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
