PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Henrique (ranked 3772 p4p, 3840 weight class) and Exotic Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Exotic Winner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henrique throws a half hearted mid kick.
Winner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Henrique gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Winner tries to keep at a distance but Henrique has taken the fight into the clinch.

Winner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Winner jumps guard and drags Henrique to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Winner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Henrique's guard.

Henrique might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like Winner might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Henrique is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Henrique is looking to stand up but Winner isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Winner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Henrique is just riding it out for now. Winner eventually gives up the hold.
Henrique is looking for a sweep. Winner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Winner is trying to control the action in half guard but Henrique is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Winner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Henrique to the ground. Winner is now in Henrique's guard.
Winner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henrique. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Winner ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Winner no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Winner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Henrique manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Henrique shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Winner sprawls well. Winner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Henrique gets slowly back to his feet.

Winner stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Henrique has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Winner manages to get his head free but now Henrique has transitioned to an armbar! Winner grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Henrique! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
