Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corin David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Prime Asiago!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asiago throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
David avoids the body shot from Asiago.
David has Asiago up against the cage in a clinch.
David stalling in the clinch.
Asiago misses with some punches.
David manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
David is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David passes the guard and advances to mount!
David has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
David is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Asiago can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
David misses with a head shot.
David lands a big elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Asiago in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
David postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Asiago badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of David around the waist but David pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! David is the winner by TKO! David jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Corin David!
After winning the bout, Corin David thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
In defeat, Prime Asiago stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back'.
