Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Bellard (ranked 3978 p4p, 24806 weight class) and Parker Jjung Son (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitch Bellard could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Parker Jjung Son's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mitch Bellard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Parker Jjung Son! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bellard drives through with a takedown into Jjung Son's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Jjung Son wants to get back to his feet but Bellard is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jjung Son is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Bellard trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bellard throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jjung Son wants to stand but Bellard is controlling the position. Bellard is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jjung Son is controlling Bellard's posture.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Bellard closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jjung Son quickly recovers to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jjung Son is holding on to half guard well. Bellard missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jjung Son is trying to stand back up but Bellard is controlling him
Bellard not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jjung Son keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jjung Son is doing well to control the position and prevent Bellard from advancing to side control. Jjung Son is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bellard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Jjung Son really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bellard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jjung Son is trying to stand up here but Bellard is controlling him well. Bellard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bellard slows the pace down in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jjung Son can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bellard throwing shots but Jjung Son is blocking nicely. Jjung Son keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Jjung Son is looking for a sweep. Bellard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bellard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jjung Son is not content to let Bellard control the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Jjung Son misses the jab. Jjung Son connects with a body shot. Jjung Son gets caught napping as Bellard dives in and scores a takedown. Jjung Son manages to retain guard. Jjung Son scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jjung Son just misses with a punch to the body.
Bellard closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jjung Son quickly recovers to half guard. Jjung Son has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Bellard is on him like a limpet, forcing Jjung Son back against the cage. Bellard jumps guard and drags Jjung Son to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jjung Son must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Jjung Son sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bellard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jjung Son defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Bellard is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jjung Son looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jjung Son stands up from Bellard's guard - Jjung Son perhaps looking for a knockout. Bellard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jjung Son.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Parker Jjung Son will probably get the nod. That's time! Bellard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Bellard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jjung Son tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Bellard looking to control but Jjung Son is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Bellard is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jjung Son has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Bellard avoids the attempt from Jjung Son to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jjung Son tries to buck Bellard off but he can't manage it. Jjung Son is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bellard wants to control the pace but Jjung Son is squirming around nicely. Bellard is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Jjung Son is in real trouble.
Jjung Son is trying to get back to his feet but Bellard has full control of the position and if anything, Jjung Son has just worked his way into a worse spot. Bellard is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Jjung Son has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Bellard has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Jjung Son taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Bellard doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mitch Bellard!
