Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Dufresne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Dufresne! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dufresne fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Stewart shoots in but no luck this time. Stewart closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dufresne circles away. Stewart swats away the attempt to clinch by Dufresne. Dufresne shoots and misses and Stewart counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dufresne! Stewart avoids the attempt from Dufresne to control. Stewart can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dufresne is looking to escape. Dufresne is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dufresne flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Stewart working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Stewart has hold of Dufresne's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Dufresne manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Stewart swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Dufresne is now in Stewart's guard. A big mistake from Stewart there, giving up the dominant position! Stewart has his foot on Dufresne's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dufresne works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stewart is breathing heavily. Stewart has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dufresne is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stewart. Dufresne cracks Stewart with an elbow. That is naaassty. Dufresne is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stewart is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dufresne stands up. Dufresne feints and as Stewart raises his hands in defense, Dufresne changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stewart has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dufresne can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dufresne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stewart's head. Dufresne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Stewart's head. Dufresne trying to control but Stewart is working from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dufresne's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stewart is trying to keep Dufresne in close.
Dufresne slips nicely into half guard. Dufresne uses his free foot to push down on Stewart's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stewart. Dufresne looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Dufresne landing strikes from the mount and Stewart is in trouble! Stewart can't escape the position.
Stewart tries to hold on but Dufresne postures up. Dufresne lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stewart taking shots to the head. Dufresne lands a big elbow. Stewart wants to control but Dufresne is having none of it. Stewart is squirming around, avoiding Dufresne's attempts to control the action. Dufresne working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Stewart is rocked! Dufresne controlling from the full mount. Oh Stewart is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dufresne cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dufresne working away from the top, dropping strikes. Dufresne is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Dufresne!
