Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nikola Luke (ranked 5587 p4p, 24149 weight class) and Sakire Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakire Hayes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nikola Luke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nikola Luke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sakire Hayes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luke avoids a punch combination nicely.
Luke looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Hayes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Luke quickly recovers to half guard.
Hayes content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hayes wants to free his trapped foot but Luke is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hayes slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luke won't allow Hayes to pass to mount.
Luke blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hayes.
Luke is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hayes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Luke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Luke keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Luke wants to improve his position but Hayes is controlling well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hayes decides to return to a standing position.

Luke gets caught flat footed, as Hayes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hayes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Luke is keeping the position for now.
Hayes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Hayes lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hayes engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hayes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hayes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hayes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Luke is working an open guard so Hayes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Hayes shoots in and gets a takedown into Luke's guard.
Hayes wants to control from the top but Luke keeps moving.
Hayes looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hayes stands up and waves to Luke to follow him.

Luke gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hayes forces his way into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hayes trying to mount his opponent but Luke defends it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Sakire Hayes dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Hayes moves into the clinch successfully.

Hayes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hayes throws a right hand that Luke ducks under and follows up with a left that Luke also avoids with ease.

Hayes pushes Luke up against the cage in a clinch.

Hayes gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Luke definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hayes is taking a breather. Luke says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hayes gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayes scores with a one two! Luke had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Luke is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hayes shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Hayes slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Hayes lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Sakire Hayes!
