The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Snowstrinski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Mason looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mason is still trying to improve position. Snowstrinski is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Snowstrinski slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mason's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Snowstrinski wants to control from the top but Mason keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mason looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mason looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Snowstrinski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mason manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Snowstrinski has Mason in his guard. Mason looking to sit in guard and control but Snowstrinski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Snowstrinski trying to control the position from guard on top but Mason is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Snowstrinski is really struggling to control Mason but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Oh but he could get punished here because Mason has locked up a guillotine! Mason's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Snowstrinski is holding on here and Mason must be using up a lot of energy. Snowstrinski has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mason gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
