Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kylian Jeremiah Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ron Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobs drives through with a takedown into guard.

Young is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jacobs is aware though and is defending well.
Jacobs advances to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jacobs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Young sees it coming and defends easily.

Jacobs looking for a submission but Young manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Young is keeping the position.
Jacobs wants to stand but Young has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jacobs decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Young, up you get!
Young lands a jab to Jacobs's midsection.
Young throws a right hand that Jacobs ducks under and follows up with a left that Jacobs also avoids with ease.

Jacobs shoots in and gets a takedown into Young's guard.

Jacobs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Young is keeping the position for now.
Jacobs throws a big elbow that misses.

Young looking for a guillotine here but Jacobs defends easily.
Young wants to stand up but Jacobs is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jacobs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Young dives on top into guard.

Young is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Young drops back looking for a leg! Jacobs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobs manages to kick Young off! Young jumps back into Jacobs's guard.
Jacobs is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Jacobs is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Young dives into side control.

Young trying to control the action but Jacobs is working from the bottom.
Young controls the position.
Jacobs is holding Young down, trying to stall.

Young is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jacobs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Young is breathing heavily.
Young tries to advance to mount but Jacobs denies him.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jacobs regains half guard.
Jacobs tries to roll over but Young keeps him under control.
Jacobs preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Young thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jacobs's head.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jacobs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Young fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jacobs, pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Young is doing well to control the position and prevent Jacobs from advancing to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jacobs stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Jacobs uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Young.

Jacobs stands and steps away. Young gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Jacobs feints and as Young raises his hands in defense, Jacobs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jacobs tries to free his leg and advance position but Young is retaining full guard.

Jacobs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Young. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jacobs throws a strike but Young rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jacobs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jacobs is adopting a defensive guard.

Young gets to his feet. Jacobs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Young throws a lazy head kick
and Jacobs counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Jacobs moves into the clinch.
Young is trying to break the clinch but Jacobs is controlling him.
Young tries to throw a body punch but Jacobs avoids it by throwing Young back against the cage.

Young drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jacobs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Young's elbow.
Young gets underhooks to prevent Jacobs's takedown attempt.
Kylian Jeremiah Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ron Jacobs.
Jacobs tries for a takedown. No joy.

Jacobs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Young gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ron Jacobs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jacobs swinging wildly here.

Jacobs moves into range and clinches up with Young.

Jacobs manages to break the clinch.
Young turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Jacobs tries to clinch but Young is having none of it.
Young throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Young looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jacobs scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Young manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Young fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jacobs drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Young defends it well.
Jacobs throws a head kick that misses.

Jacobs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jacobs has gone for a leg lock! Young slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jacobs's guard.

Young wants to control from the top but Jacobs keeps moving.

Young stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jacobs swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Young slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jacobs has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Young is looking to stand up but Jacobs won't let him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kylian Jeremiah Young showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Young has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
