Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Viktor Valiev (ranked 5460 p4p, 4988 weight class) and Chris Kane (ranked 509 p4p, 478 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Valiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Kane!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valiev avoids the body shot from Kane.
Valiev has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Dark Horse MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Valiev lands a glancing blow to the side of Kane's head.
Valiev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kane to score with a decent uppercut.
Valiev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Valiev fails to land with a series of punches.
Valiev looks to land a combination. Kane sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Kane swings away with a body shot that misses

and Valiev counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Valiev.

Valiev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kane waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Valiev.
Chris Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valiev on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kane drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Valiev onto his butt! Valiev pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.

It looks like Viktor Valiev has been cut.
Kane circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Valiev tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Kane wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Chris Kane!
