PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bone Breaker (ranked 2815 p4p, 2292 weight class) and Bo Duran (ranked 383 p4p, 318 weight class). Bo Duran will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bone Breaker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bo Duran!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Breaker with that takedown attempt.
Breaker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Duran counter with a right hand.
Breaker fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bone Breaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Breaker ducks under a wild hook from Duran.
Duran scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Breaker doesn't seem bothered though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breaker takes a jab right on the kisser.
Breaker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duran circles away.
Duran looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Breaker is defended easily by Duran.

Duran thows a left - swing and a miss!
Duran keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Duran looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Breaker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And Duran responds with a good body kick, but Breaker manages to step out the way in time.

Duran gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Breaker to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Duran avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Breaker postures up in Duran's guard and throws a big left but Duran blocks it.
Breaker has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Breaker throwing strikes from guard but Duran blocks nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Breaker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Breaker postures up in Duran's guard and throws a big left but Duran blocks it.
Breaker throws a strike but Duran rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Duran pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Breaker is keeping the position for now.
Breaker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Duran is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Breaker throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Duran escapes and throws Breaker's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Breaker tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Duran presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Breaker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Duran controlling his opponent.
Duran is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Breaker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Breaker is working hard here to advance position.
Breaker looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
I really don't envy Breaker right now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Duran dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Breaker shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Duran counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Bone Breaker has been cut.
Duran misses with a hook. Breaker ducked under it nicely.
Breaker misses with a body shot.
Duran let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Duran jabs Breaker to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Breaker slips a jab from Duran.
Breaker doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Duran counter with a right hand.

Breaker half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
A big left from Duran misses.
Breaker darts in looking for a takedown but Duran gets double underhooks and turns Breaker into the cage.
Duran throws out a counter right but Breaker avoids it with no problem.

Duran manages to break the clinch.
A lazy left from Duran finds it's target.
A swing and a miss from Duran.
Bone Breaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice body punch from Duran.
Breaker doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Duran counters with a nice right hand that sends Breaker toppling to the canvas! Breaker scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Duran finish him?!

Breaker is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duran darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Breaker's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Duran before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bo Duran!
A very excited looking Bo Duran made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
