The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuorempi pushes Gonzalez up against the cage in a clinch.
Nuorempi throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Gonzalez misses with some punches.
Nuorempi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gonzalez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've been hearing reports that Nuorempi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

and Gonzalez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Suutari Nuorempi has been cut.

Shaun Gonzalez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sloppy strikes from Gonzalez. Those never looked like landing.
Gonzalez circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Nuorempi to the canvas! Nuorempi doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Gonzalez keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
