Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyle Alzado (ranked 5763 p4p, 3631 weight class) and John Koromos (ranked 230 p4p, 176 weight class). Koromos is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Matthew Parker - Signal (SPES INVICTA Remix). John Koromos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzado shoots in looking for a takedown but Koromos manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alzado's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Alzado throws a head kick but Koromos moves out of range.
Alzado throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alzado takes a jab right on the kisser.
Alzado throws a jab when Koromos was well out of range.
Alzado fails with a takedown attempt.
Alzado is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Alzado ducks under a wild hook from Koromos.

A telegraphed right hand from Alzado misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alzado takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alzado falls off balance throwing a combination
and Koromos counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Koromos connects with a combination that backs up Alzado into the cage. Koromos lands a flurry of punches that gets past Alzado's guard. Alzado is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Koromos bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Koromos!
A relieved looking John Koromos thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
