Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Age Sixteen (ranked 2057 p4p, 3255 weight class) and Thad Thayer (ranked 278 p4p, 401 weight class). Age Sixteen had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Age Sixteen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thad Thayer!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thayer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sixteen as he avoids it easily.

Sixteen moves into the clinch.
Sixteen tries a body shot but Thayer blocks it.

Thayer has hold of one of Sixteen's legs. Sixteen is fighting the takedown attempt but Thayer gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sixteen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close second round but I would say that Age Sixteen will probably get the nod.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thayer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thayer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
