Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 686 p4p, 1137 weight class) and Reijo Halli (ranked 105 p4p, 160 weight class). Chang comes to the cage accompanied by Kung Fu Fighting ft. Fatboy Slim. Halli has chosen Clint Eastwood - Gorillaz as his entrance music. Reijo Halli has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Chang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reijo Halli! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Halli. Chang throwing a counter right hand but Halli manages to avoid it. Chang throws a hook to the side of Halli's head but Halli sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Halli wants to clinch. Halli ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Chang moves into range and connects with a jab. A left lands for Halli. Chang dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Halli. That did some damage! Halli takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Reijo Halli has been cut. Halli's jab looks to have found its range, popping Chang under the eye. Chang misses with a right hand and Halli counters with a nice double leg into side control. Chang won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Halli remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Halli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chang keeps working. Chang tries to bench press Halli off him but Halli keeps the position. Halli is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Chang will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halli is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Chang looks calm but he's in trouble here. Halli gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Chang is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Halli lets go of the hold and Chang can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Reijo Halli! In his post fight interview, Reijo Halli started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
