This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; John Doe! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Doe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Doe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bar sprawls well. Bar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Doe gets slowly back to his feet. No luck for Bar with that takedown attempt. Bar has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Bar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Bar content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bar trying to pass the guard but Doe defending well. That's two minutes gone in the round. Bar controlling from side mount. Bar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Doe is looking for a sweep. Doe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Bar trying to control the position but Doe is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Doe is looking to regain half guard here but Bar keeps moving and retains side control. Doe is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Doe keeps working. Bar happy to just control the position for now. Doe tries to buck Bar off but Bar is having none of it. You can see the frustration on Doe's face as Bar controls the position.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Bar tries to lock up and control but Doe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bar is squirming around, avoiding Doe's attempts to control the action. Bar is looking to get to half guard. Doe controlling from mount.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Bar tries to hold on but Doe pushes him away. Doe wants to control the action but instead Bar gets a body lock and reverses into Doe's guard! Nice work! Doe wants to control but Bar passes easily into half guard.
Bar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Doe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Bar is thwarting Doe's attempts to control the position. Doe wants to improve his position but Bar is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight! As we have tied on points and both fighters attempted the same number of subs, we will decide the bout based on the toss of a coin! Bar is heads and Doe is tails. The coin is in the air and it lands... heads! Bar takes the fight on points by 11 to 10. |
