Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Swallow (ranked 3940 p4p, 4228 weight class) and Patrick Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Swallow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sullivan forces Swallow back against the cage and clinches.
Sullivan tries to pull guard but Swallow holds him up against the cage and eventually Sullivan drops back down to his feet.

Swallow breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sullivan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Swallow, pushing him back against the cage.
Sullivan is trying to pull guard but Swallow has him pressed against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Swallow is trying to stall.
Sullivan tries to pull guard but Swallow forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Steven Swallow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Sullivan.

Sullivan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Swallow uses from the top position.

Sullivan pulls Swallow in to control the position.
Sullivan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Swallow's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Swallow can't keep his opponent in guard - Sullivan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sullivan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Swallow scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Sullivan manages to mount him!
Swallow is trying to escape the mount.

More stalling from Sullivan.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Sullivan dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Swallow goes for a double leg but Sullivan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sullivan continues to drive forward.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sullivan jumps into guard, dragging Swallow to the mat.
Sullivan is pulling down on Swallow's head. It's preventing any offense from Swallow, at least for the moment.
Sullivan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well, if Sullivan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Swallow is looking for a sweep. Sullivan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sullivan controlling the pace.
Sullivan with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
Sullivan passes into side control, despite Swallow's attempt to control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Swallow is trying to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sullivan takes a little break here. Swallow wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Sullivan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Swallow is trying to control Sullivan's posture but Sullivan avoids it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Sullivan clinches with his opponent.

Sullivan jumps into guard, dragging Swallow to the mat.
Sullivan is adopting a defensive guard.

Patrick Sullivan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sullivan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sullivan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Sullivan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Swallow moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Swallow is looking to slow Sullivan down with leg kicks.
Swallow fails with a takedown attempt.

Sullivan has Swallow up against the cage in a clinch.
Sullivan is trying to pull guard but Swallow turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Sullivan pulls guard effortlessly.

Sullivan has Swallow pulled in close to control his posture.
Sullivan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Swallow tries to lock up and control but Sullivan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sullivan controlling from the full mount.
Swallow is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Sullivan is continuing to stall.
Patrick Sullivan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sullivan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Patrick Sullivan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
