And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 3 losses; Raymond Gascon!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Chai has taken the fight to the clinch.

Gascon is trying to trip Chai. He has hold of a leg but Chai is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gascon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Gascon felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

I really don't envy Gascon right now.

Chai is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gascon knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gascon for a finish.

Chai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gascon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gascon content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Chai has locked up a guillotine! Chai's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Gascon is holding on here and Chai must be using up a lot of energy. Gascon has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Chai gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
