Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Serra (ranked 3337 p4p, 4161 weight class) and Doyle Brunson (ranked 451 p4p, 519 weight class). Doyle Brunson will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Serra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doyle Brunson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brunson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Serra. Serra sets himself, and Brunson steps forward looking for the clinch! Serra avoids it this time. Brunson misses with a body shot.
A little feinted left hand from Serra on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Jab, jab by Serra - just one landing. Brunson thows a leg kick but Serra checks it and Serra counters by clinching up. Brunson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brunson ducks under a wild hook from Serra. As Serra backs off Brunson throws a huge counter combo but Serra manages to avoid it all. A decent looking cross lands there for Serra. Brunson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Serra lunges at Brunson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Brunson's hand. Serra slips a jab and a cross from Brunson.
Brunson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Serra moves away. Serra avoids the body shot from Brunson.
Serra works over Brunson's head and body with a nice combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brunson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Brunson lands a nice looking body shot.

Serra has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Brunson throws a body shot but no joy. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Brunson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Brunson is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Serra rather than just go for the knockout. Serra jabbing away but nothing is landing. A nice side step and Brunson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Serra throws a jab when Brunson was well out of range. Serra thuds his right hand into Brunson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Serra is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Check out the look on Brunson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Serra is trying to control Brunson's posture but Brunson avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A lull in the action here. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Doyle Brunson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jack Serra's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Serra takes a swing at Brunson's ribcage but misses. Serra throws a lazy right hand but Brunson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Brunson lands with a good body shot. Nice takedown defense from Serra. No joy for Brunson on that attempt. Serra has closed the distance and engaged Brunson in a clinch.

Brunson controlling from mount. Serra tries to hold on but Brunson pushes him away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brunson controlling from mount. Doyle Brunson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
