Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Big Maynard (ranked 4060 p4p, 4170 weight class) and Roman Anpastapoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 425 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Big Maynard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roman Anpastapoulos! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maynard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Anpastapoulos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Anpastapoulos is trying to control Maynard's posture but Maynard avoids it. Anpastapoulos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Anpastapoulos is trying to improve his position. Maynard lands a decent elbow from side control. Anpastapoulos manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Anpastapoulos is looking for a sweep. Maynard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maynard slips a nice elbow through Anpastapoulos's hands, connecting with Anpastapoulos's forehead. Maynard sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Anpastapoulos defending well though. Maynard wants to work for an arm triangle but Anpastapoulos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Maynard throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Maynard landing some decent shots from guard. Maynard content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Maynard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anpastapoulos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maynard has managed to get both his arms back between Anpastapoulos's legs - danger averted. Anpastapoulos has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maynard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Maynard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Maynard connects with a couple of short punches. Maynard sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Anpastapoulos doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Maynard paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Anpastapoulos - great work!
