Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Jones (ranked 4378 p4p, 4317 weight class) and Chris McCocker (ranked 423 p4p, 422 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matt Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris McCocker! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCocker swivels and escapes. No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones. McCocker looks like he wants to counter punch here. Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McCocker sprawls well. McCocker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. A big right from McCocker misses. Jones feints and as McCocker raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. McCocker is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well. McCocker throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCocker is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Jones wants to get up but he can't break McCocker's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCocker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones wants to pass the guard but McCocker is keeping the position. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McCocker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones preventing the sweep. Jones looking to control the position here, rather than advance. McCocker working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. McCocker working for a triangle but Jones defends it easily.
Jones drops back looking for a leg! McCocker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McCocker manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into McCocker's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones wants to pass the guard but McCocker is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones advances to half guard. Jones tries to stand and escape but McCocker is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCocker trying to control but Jones postures up.
Jones is looking for a kimura but McCocker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jones to get the leverage. McCocker is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McCocker looking for submissions off his back. Jones is trying to control. McCocker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Jones wants to stand up but McCocker is controlling the position.
Jones thows a huge punch but McCocker dodges it nicely.
Jones is trying to work for a kimura but McCocker is defending well.
McCocker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McCocker.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McCocker is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.
Jones is sitting in close to McCocker's body. McCocker has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jones is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jones is tapping! That was a very nice submission by McCocker.
