Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Toombs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Menger!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menger avoids the head kick by Toombs.
Menger moves in looking to clinch but Toombs pushes him off.
Toombs misses with a head kick.
Menger tries to clinch there but Toombs circles away.
Toombs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Toombs pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Toombs misses the shot to the body.
Menger tries to clinch but Toombs moves out of range.
Toombs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Toombs shoots in for a takedown but Menger shows good takedown defense.
Toombs misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Toombs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Toombs has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Menger is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

and Toombs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Menger manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Menger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Toombs is looking to escape.

Menger jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Toombs manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Menger wants to control but Toombs is keeping him busy.

Menger has hold of Toombs's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Toombs tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Menger cranks the arm and Toombs screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Toombs, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
