PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Pattenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pattenson comes to the ring accompanied by 4 my town. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Pattenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Parker!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker shoots in and drives through. Pattenson sprawls well.

Pattenson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Parker is looking to reverse the position.
Pattenson trying to control the position but Parker is working away.
Pattenson just content to control the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Parker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pattenson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Parker scores with a shot to the body.
Parker misses with an attempted mid kick.
Parker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Parker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Some bone on bone action there as Pattenson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Parker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Pattenson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Parker is pressing down on Pattenson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pattenson postures up.
Parker wants to improve his position but instead Pattenson has moved into half guard.
Parker works his way to full guard. Good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Parker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pattenson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pattenson drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick Pattenson off! Pattenson jumps back into Parker's guard.

Parker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pattenson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pattenson scoring with punches to the head and body.
Pattenson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Parker had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pattenson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Parker Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pattenson's back instead.
Pattenson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Pattenson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pattenson feints and as Parker raises his hands in defense, Pattenson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pattenson postures up.

Pattenson is sitting in close to Parker's body. Parker has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Pattenson is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Pattenson is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Parker.
