PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaac Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes to the ring accompanied by Seek n Strike. Brown has chosen Wonderland by 10cc as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaac Brown!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller closes the distance and pushes Brown back into the ropes.
Brown jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Miller walks away with a smile on his face. Brown gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Miller gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Miller breaks the clinch.

Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard.
Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Brown tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Miller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Miller throws a wild body kick that Brown sees coming a mile off.
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Miller sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Miller misses with a body kick.

Brown clinches.

Miller drags the fight down to the ground.
Miller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brown is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown wants to stand but Miller has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Miller looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Miller dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Miller will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Brown tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it.
Brown shoots in but Miller avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ken Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Brown counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Miller is looking to land body kicks.
Brown chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Miller can pounce on him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Miller.
Nice body kick there by Miller.

Miller moves into range and clinches up with Brown.

Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miller throws a push kick but Brown slaps the foot to one side.

Brown shoots in and bounces Miller off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Brown controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Brown stops Miller from standing up.
Brown passes Miller's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Brown is working for a kimura but Miller is defending it quite comfortably.
Miller trying to hold on to Brown's head to control him but Brown postures up.

Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Miller tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Miller to the ground. Miller escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Miller fakes the leg kick and cracks Brown in the body.

Miller pushes Brown up against the ropes in a clinch.

Miller manages to break the clinch.
Ken Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Horrible takedown by Brown or perhaps it was just good defense by Miller which made him look bad.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miller as he avoids it easily.
Ken Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaac Brown.
Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miller swivels and escapes.
Brown lands a head kick. Miller smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Brown will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
Brown tries a low kick but Miller avoids it.

Brown scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Miller is not content to let Brown control the position.
Miller can't do much from the bottom here.

Miller is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Brown has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Miller has escaped the position, nice work there.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Miller goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Miller moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Miller throws a push kick but Brown slaps the foot to one side.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Brown throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.

Miller scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Brown manages to mount him!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Brown is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Miller throws the kick towards the body but Brown avoids it.
Brown has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Miller.
Brown throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close fourth round but Isaac Brown will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


No luck for Brown with that takedown attempt.
Miller swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brown fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Miller rushes Brown and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Miller breaks from the clinch.
Miller throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Crunch! Miller slams his shin into Brown's torso.
Miller throws a right hand that Brown ducks under and follows up with a left that Brown also avoids with ease.
A slapping body kick lands there for Miller.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Miller.
Brown misses with a head kick.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Miller stuffs the takedown.
Ken Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Isaac Brown.

and Brown counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Brown drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Miller dives on top into guard.

Isaac Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Miller.
Ken Miller is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brown.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Isaac Brown.
I think Miller has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
