Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dwayne Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jorge Garcia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Austin closes the distance and clinches up with Rogers, looking for a takedown. Austin pushes Rogers against the cage but Rogers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Austin tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rogers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rogers showed some decent athleticism there.
Rogers trying to control from half guard but Austin is working away.
Rogers passes the guard and advances to mount!

Rogers swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Austin is now in Rogers's guard. A big mistake from Rogers there, giving up the dominant position!

Austin throws a big right hand that misses.
Rogers tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Austin with that takedown attempt.

Rogers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Austin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rogers keeps working.

Austin looking to control but Rogers is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rogers is in all sorts of trouble here.

Rogers bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Austin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rogers counters with a left to the body.
Rogers swings for the body but Austin moves out of range.
Austin avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Rogers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Rogers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rogers drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Austin tries to bench press Rogers off him but Rogers keeps the position.
Rogers wants to control but Austin is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rogers lands a nice forearm strike.
Rogers throws an elbow but Austin slips to the side and avoids it well.
Austin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Austin throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Austin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Austin is looking for a sweep.
Austin prevents Rogers from moving into mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Austin looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Austin shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rogers escapes and gets back to his feet.
Rogers misses with a series of wild punches.
Rogers shoots in for a double leg but Austin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rogers thows a left - swing and a miss!

A jab lands there for Rogers.
Rogers takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Rogers counters with a single leg into guard. Austin didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogers has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Austin is proving hard to escape from.

Rogers throws and elbow that misses. Austin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rogers's guard. Nice move by Austin!

Rogers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Austin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Rogers stands up and beckons Austin to join him on the feet.
Austin thumps Rogers with a low kick.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rogers as he jumps to the side.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Austin is looking for a sweep. Rogers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, if Rogers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well Rogers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
