This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 14 losses; Dragon Li Chai! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 42 wins and 25 losses; Malaki Fiso! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Chai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fiso circles away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Fiso. Fiso bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Chai (0) vs (4) Fiso The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Chai can't do much from the bottom here. Chai tries to improve position but can't. We've been hearing good reports from Chai's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. My spies in Marty Robbin's Fight Ranch inform me that Fiso has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Fiso is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Let's hope that Fiso has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Fiso trying to control but Chai is working from the bottom. Fiso seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Chai is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Fiso looking to control but Chai passes into half guard.
Chai is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fiso is just riding it out for now. Chai eventually gives up the hold.
And that's the end of the fight! Fiso wins on points by 17 to 4. Our winner, Malaki Fiso, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. |
