The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berghuis connects with a crisp jab.
Berghuis bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Gillam fails with a takedown attempt.
Gillam defending well as Berghuis loads up on a big left hand.
Gillam shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Berghuis sprawls well. Berghuis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gillam gets slowly back to his feet.
Gillam shoots for a takedown but Berghuis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Gillam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gillam moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gillam throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Adriaan Berghuis has been cut.
Gillam closes the distance and clinches up with Berghuis, looking for a takedown. Gillam pushes Berghuis against the cage but Berghuis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Paul Gillam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gillam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Berghuis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Berghuis throws out a counter right but Gillam avoids it with no problem.

Berghuis thuds his right hand into Gillam's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gillam darts in looking for a takedown but Berghuis gets double underhooks and turns Gillam into the cage.

Gillam has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Berghuis after a bit of a struggle.

Berghuis lands a lovely overhand right.
Berghuis works Gillam's body with a nice hook.

Berghuis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gillam tries to close the distance and clinch but Berghuis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Berghuis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Gillam shoots in looking for a takedown. Berghuis tries to sprawl out of it but Gillam keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Berghuis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Berghuis drops Gillam with a naaaaasty hook - Gillam is in real trouble here! Berghuis dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
