The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puusepp closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ngannou quickly recovers to half guard.
Puusepp wants to control but Ngannou is keeping him busy.
Puusepp is looking for a kimura but Ngannou is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Puusepp to get the leverage.
Puusepp is trying to work for a kimura but Ngannou is defending well.
Puusepp is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ngannou is just riding it out for now. Puusepp eventually gives up the hold.
Puusepp is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puusepp is working for a submission of some sort.
