Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Corin David (ranked 1765 p4p, 1625 weight class) and Clin Cartwright (ranked 230 p4p, 215 weight class). Cartwright has chosen Cirice as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Corin David! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clin Cartwright! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David stuffs the takedown. David avoids the body shot from Cartwright.
Cartwright lands with a nice body punch. Nice body punch from Cartwright. Cartwright gets caught flat footed, as David shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. David is pushing down on Cartwright's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cartwright is fighting to maintain full guard but David has managed to sneak the leg through. David escapes and throws Cartwright's legs to the side, diving into side control! Cartwright manages to work his way to half guard, despite David's best efforts. Cartwright is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of David's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take David's back! David tries to escape but Cartwright has the hooks in and won't let him break free. David is working hard here to advance position. Cartwright is persistently looking for the submission but David is defending it well.

This has been an exciting period of action! David avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

David slips nicely into half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cartwright is in trouble now - David has advanced to mount! David lands with some strikes. It looks like Clin Cartwright has been cut. Cartwright is trying desperately to improve position. David is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Cartwright can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close round but I would say that Corin David will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Clin Cartwright's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! David throws a shot from downtown. Cartwright moves away and avoids it. David forces Cartwright back against the cage and clinches. David has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cartwright uses from the top position. Cartwright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cartwright is nestled in close to David, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Cartwright looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Clin Cartwright has got the better of the ground game so far. David regains full guard. Nicely done. The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Cartwright lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Cartwright looks for a takedown but David sprawls well. David moves forwards but Cartwright connects with a nice, crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cartwright makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Cartwright drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cartwright jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cartwright throws a strike but David rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think David should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cartwright has tightened it up now! David should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
