Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patricio Balduino (ranked 3297 p4p, 24803 weight class) and Fotis Vassilakos (ranked 348 p4p, 599 weight class). Balduino comes to the cage accompanied by Heaven Sent - John Digweed. Vassilakos has chosen Zorba's Dance as his entrance music. Fotis Vassilakos acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vassilakos throws a nice looking combination but Balduino bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Balduino keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Balduino drives through and clinches with Vassilakos against the cage.
Balduino is trying to pull guard but Vassilakos has him pressed against the cage.

Vassilakos trying to control the position from guard on top but Balduino is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Balduino looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vassilakos is one step ahead there.

Vassilakos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balduino is trying to keep Vassilakos in close.
We've been hearing good reports from Balduino's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Balduino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vassilakos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vassilakos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Balduino is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Vassilakos pulls his head out easily.

Balduino looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Vassilakos pushes past his half guard into mount!

Vassilakos is working for a guillotine from mount but Balduino frees his head quite easily.
Balduino is controlling an arm, preventing Vassilakos from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Vassilakos has control of Balduino's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Balduino regains control of the situation pretty easily.
