The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Adilev throws out the jab.
Adilev slips a jab and a cross from James.
James throws a right and a left that Adilev avoids nicely.
Adilev doesn't succeed with the takedown
and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Adilev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Adilev persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.
It seemed like James was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Adilev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Adilev maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! James could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Adilev has cracked it and James is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Adilev!

Maulen Adilev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
