PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Skylar Tinker (ranked 5351 p4p, 3457 weight class) and Branimir Tanev (ranked 553 p4p, 465 weight class). Tinker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bad Child. Skylar Tinker has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Skylar Tinker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Branimir Tanev!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tinker connects with a nice looking jab.
Tinker feints a jab promting Tanev to slip. Tinker then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tanev slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Tanev feints and as Tinker raises his hands in defense, Tanev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tanev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tanev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tinker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Tinker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tanev on the ground.
Tanev postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Tanev working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Tanev works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Tinker has hold of Tanev's hands but Tanev slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tanev in particular looking to stall.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tanev is nestled in close to Tinker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Tanev lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Tinker is rocked!
Tanev lands a big elbow - Tinker is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Tanev!

After the fight, Branimir Tanev was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Skylar Tinker was interviewed post fight and said 'This changes nothing. The Villain always has the last laugh. MARK MY WORDS.'.
