Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ray Day (ranked 5399 p4p, 5254 weight class) and Cobra Mansueto (ranked 511 p4p, 502 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cobra Mansueto! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day misses with a takedown attempt and Mansueto counters with a stiff right hand. Day fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Day shoots in and gets a takedown into Mansueto's guard. Day trying to control but Mansueto is working from the bottom. Day drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mansueto looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mansueto looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mansueto!
Day definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Day is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mansueto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mansueto working over Day with some ground and pound. Day looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day moves into full guard.
Day wants to sweep but no luck. Day is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mansueto can do anything to dispel that myth. Mansueto is looking for a sweep. Day is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Day is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mansueto is looking to improve his position.
Mansueto told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Day is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mansueto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Day is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mansueto! Mansueto tries to hold on but Day pushes him away. Day is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mansueto to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mansueto shrugs it off. Day looking to control and managing it successfully. Day is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mansueto has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mansueto!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day wants to sweep but no luck. Day working a defensive guard here.
Mansueto working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Day's head. Mansueto working some strikes from top position. Day had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mansueto defends it easily. Day is trying to control the position but Mansueto postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mansueto wants to control from the top but Day keeps moving. Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mansueto is one step ahead there. Mansueto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Day has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mansueto has managed to get both his arms back between Day's legs - danger averted. Mansueto is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Mansueto working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Day has his foot on Mansueto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mansueto works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Day is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mansueto connects with a couple of short punches. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ray Day dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Day shoots for a takedown but Mansueto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Day fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mansueto avoids it really well and circles away. Cobra Mansueto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mansueto looking to score a takedown here. Day is defending well but Mansueto drives through and ends up in Day's guard.

Mansueto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Day. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mansueto is one step ahead there. Day is working hard here to advance position. Mansueto must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Day is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mansueto throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Day's body to avoid the submission. Day has instead reached around Mansueto's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Day arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
