Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Edwards (ranked 24803 p4p, 3894 weight class) and Arles Aloevera (ranked 558 p4p, 416 weight class). Edwards comes into the arena with "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr. blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arles Aloevera!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards fails with a takedown attempt.
Aloevera falls off balance throwing a combination
and Edwards counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Aloevera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Edwards tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Edwards takes the fight into the clinch.

Edwards definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Edwards appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Aloevera darts in and clinches Edwards up against the cage.

Aloevera shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Edwards eats them both and turns towards Aloevera to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Justin Edwards has been cut.
Edwards shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aloevera as he jumps to the side.
Edwards closes this distance looking for a takedown but Aloevera circles away.
Aloevera unleashes a big counter combination but Edwards bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Danga de danga de dang - Aloevera scores with a four punch combination!
Edwards takes a kick to the side of the head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Edwards moves out of range of the strikes.
A shot to the body from Edwards misses
and Aloevera counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Aloevera instigates a clinch.
Aloevera managing to block the knees to the body from Edwards.
Aloevera pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Aloevera throws a head kick but Edwards moves out of range.
No luck for Edwards with that takedown attempt.
Aloevera lands with a kick to the temple. Edwards shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Edwards is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Aloevera.

Oh Edwards is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Aloevera defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Edwards.
Edwards seems to have got his legs back now.
Aloevera moves into range and clinches up with Edwards.

and Aloevera counters with a straight right hand.
Edwards finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Aloevera's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Edwards falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Arles Aloevera!
Arles Aloevera was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
