Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Pattenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matias Laakso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pattenson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is One Shot. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pattenson gets the takedown into side control.
Laakso looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Pattenson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Pattenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pattenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pattenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pattenson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pattenson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Laakso for as long as he can get away with.
Pattenson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Pattenson has hold of Laakso's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Laakso tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pattenson cranks the arm and Laakso screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Laakso, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Patrick Pattenson!
