And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Bjorn Akerfeldt!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Majere fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Akerfeldt sprawls well initially but Majere persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Majere (2) vs (0) Akerfeldt
Akerfeldt wants to improve his position but Majere is controlling well.
Majere seems to be working for a kimura but Akerfeldt defends the submission attempt.
Akerfeldt gets full guard.
Majere trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Akerfeldt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Akerfeldt is looking for a triangle but Majere pushes his legs off easily.
Akerfeldt wants to sweep here but Majere controlling him for the moment.
Majere wants to control from the top but Akerfeldt keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Majere stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Akerfeldt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Akerfeldt wants to sweep but no luck.

Majere is trying to maintain the position but Akerfeldt is very close to passing his half guard.
Akerfeldt seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Majere makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Majere.
Majere escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Akerfeldt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Akerfeldt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Majere swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Akerfeldt is posturing up here but Majere has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Akerfeldt tries to roll out but it's too tight and Akerfeldt has to tap! Slick submission there by Majere!
