Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mohsin Zaidi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ingolf Ulfriksson! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ulfriksson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ulfriksson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Zaidi - the referee stops the clock and Ulfriksson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Zaidi. Ulfriksson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Zaidi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Ulfriksson at a distance.
A good leg kick by Zaidi. Zaidi dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Ulfriksson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Zaidi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ulfriksson scrambles back to his feet. Zaidi connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Ulfriksson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Ulfriksson tries to sprawl but Zaidi drives through with a takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zaidi trying to mount his opponent but Ulfriksson defends it. Ulfriksson is refusing to be controlled, as Zaidi sits in half guard. Zaidi working over Ulfriksson with some ground and pound. Ulfriksson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Ulfriksson is rocked! Ulfriksson taking some punishment here, with Zaidi in his half guard. Ulfriksson is still in real trouble! Can Zaidi finish him? Zaidi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Zaidi lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Ulfriksson! More strikes land and this one is all over! Zaidi jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
