Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Liu (ranked 25014 p4p, 4993 weight class) and Edmund Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liu gets a double leg takedown into Benson's guard.

Benson has his feet on Liu's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Liu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Benson tries to close the distance and clinch but Liu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Benson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Liu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Benson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Benson moves into the clinch successfully.

Benson tightens his grip and picks Liu up, before dumping him to the ground. Liu manages to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Benson stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Nice sprawl there from Benson as Liu shoots in.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Liu enables Benson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Liu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Benson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Benson lands a jab to Liu's midsection.
Liu is breathing heavily.
Benson lands with a kick to the temple. Liu shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Benson scores with a nice body kick.
Benson lands a nice hook to Liu's body. Liu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Liu manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Liu looking to stall.
Liu tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Benson smiles and moves away.
Benson misses with a wild body shot.
Benson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Benson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Liu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Benson defends it nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Benson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Benson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Liu manages to avoid it.
Benson digs a good hook to Liu's body.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Benson! Liu is out on his feet! Benson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Liu is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Liu is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
