Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michael Washington (ranked 3615 p4p, 3632 weight class) and Akeen Coker (ranked 373 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Washington might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Rising. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Washington!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Akeen Coker!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coker connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Washington's hands.
Coker with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
We've been informed that Coker has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Washington shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Coker sprawls well. Coker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Washington gets slowly back to his feet.

Coker thuds his right hand into Washington's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Washington is rocked!
Coker cracks Washington with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Washington tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Coker pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Washington is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
