Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between cuatro vientos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benson Sherman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). vientos comes into the arena with false pretense blaring out of the sound system. Benson Sherman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherman doesn't manage to clinch there - vientos circles away.
vientos thows a body shot but no joy.
Sherman stuffs the takedown attempt from vientos. vientos gets slowly back to his feet.
Sherman clinches with his opponent.
Sherman lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
vientos works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Sherman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
vientos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sherman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

vientos throws a strike but Sherman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

vientos changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sherman fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sherman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sherman showed some decent athleticism there.

Sherman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sherman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of vientos's head.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sherman moves into the clinch.

Sherman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

vientos moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Sherman lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benson Sherman dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Sherman tries to clinch up but vientos circles away and keeps his distance.
vientos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sherman to the mat! Sherman manages to get full guard.
vientos makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

vientos throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sherman uses it to pass to side control.
Sherman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, vientos has escaped the position, nice work there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
vientos is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sherman off and has taken his back!

vientos struggling to land strikes to the head as Sherman covers up.
Sherman rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
vientos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sherman is just riding it out for now. vientos eventually gives up the hold.
vientos is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
vientos is looking to advance position but Sherman won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sherman wants to get back to his feet.
vientos is trying to control. Sherman wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
vientos not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sherman wants to clinch up but vientos keeps it at a distance.
Sherman takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
vientos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sherman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
vientos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sherman won't allow vientos to sweep him here.

Sherman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sherman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

vientos is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Sherman frees his head nicely. Oh but vientos has switched to an armbar! Sherman is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
