Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Day! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Freaky Frank! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frank scores with a jab to the jaw. Frank jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Frank swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Day. A decent looking cross lands there for Frank. Frank scores with a nice head shot. Day decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Frank is looking for a sweep. Day is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Frank trying to control here.
Frank is in trouble now - Day has advanced to mount! Frank wants to control but Day is having none of it. Frank is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Day looking for a guillotine from mount but Frank is having none of it. Frank is squirming around, avoiding Day's attempts to control the action. Day goes for an armbar but Frank turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Frank. Day working a defensive guard but Frank manages to pass into side control anyway.
Day is looking to reverse the position. Frank wants to control but Day is keeping him busy. Day gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Day tries to roll over but Frank keeps him under control. Day looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Day looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Frank wants to pass the guard but Day is defending well. Day looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank wants to lay and pray for a moment but Day keeps working. Day desperately trying to maintain half guard. Frank is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Frank trying to control the position from guard on top but Day is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Day working for a triangle but Frank defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Frank stopping the sweep attempt from Day. Frank tries to free his leg and advance position but Day is retaining full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Frank scores with a jab to the jaw. Day drops his hands momentarily and Frank takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Day walks into a left hand. Day with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Frank to score with a decent uppercut. Frank with a hook. Frank getting the better of the striking in that exchange. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freaky Frank dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Day gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Frank gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freaky Frank!
