Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, BJ Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Turbo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Turbo pinned against the cage. Turbo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Turbo, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Turbo against the cage but Turbo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Turbo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Turbo staying out of range there.
Turbo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like BJ Penn has been cut.
Penn walks into a straight right hand from Turbo.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Turbo. No joy for Penn on that attempt.
Turbo tries to score with a low kick but Penn moves his leg out of the way.
Penn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Turbo lands a body shot.
Penn is breathing heavily.
Turbo lands a really nice looking cross but Penn seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Penn. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Turbo manages to break the clinch.
Turbo drops Penn with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Penn looks back up at him and smiles so Turbo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Penn is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Turbo engages and cracks Penn with a massive lead left hook - Penn tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Turbo is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dave Turbo!
