Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Danaher (ranked 4710 p4p, 25294 weight class) and Lorenzo Montebianco (ranked 449 p4p, 0 weight class). John Danaher could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lorenzo Montebianco's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Danaher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lorenzo Montebianco! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danaher throws a leg kick which misses Montebianco's front leg but catches the back leg as Montebianco tries to avoid it. Montebianco forces Danaher back against the cage and clinches. Montebianco pressing his opponent against the cage. Montebianco tries to pull guard but Danaher won't allow it.
Montebianco working hard to break the clinch. Montebianco fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Danaher goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Montebianco misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Danaher.
Montebianco has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montebianco tries to pull guard but Danaher forces him back to his feet, against the cage. John Danaher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lorenzo Montebianco. Danaher manages to break the clinch.
Montebianco gets a clinch. Danaher trying to stall but Montebianco improves his position.
Danaher tries to circle away but Montebianco has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montebianco goes for a takedown attempt but Danaher pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
John Danaher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Montebianco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Danaher as he jumps to the side. Montebianco decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Danaher looks like he's trying to stand up.
Montebianco perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Danaher pushes Montebianco off looking to stand but Montebianco dives back in and keeps control.
Montebianco decides to return to a standing position. Danaher throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Montebianco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Montebianco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Danaher was covering up waiting for the punch and Montebianco finishes the takedown easily into guard. Montebianco slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montebianco gets to his feet. Danaher looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Danaher scores with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Montebianco gets a clinch. Danaher looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Danaher manages to break the clinch.
Danaher misses with a right hand and Montebianco counters with a stiff right hand. Danaher misses with a wild combination.
Montebianco throws a body kick that misses. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Danaher - that will leave a mark!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danaher lands a head kick. Montebianco smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Montebianco blocks a head kick by Danaher.
Montebianco scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Montebianco sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Danaher defending well though. Danaher is looking to escape. Danaher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montebianco on the ground. Montebianco wants to pass the guard but Danaher is defending well. Montebianco performing his best blanket impression for a moment. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montebianco looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Montebianco perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Montebianco prevents Danaher from standing back up.
Montebianco slows the pace down in half guard. Danaher tries to kick Montebianco off but Montebianco keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lorenzo Montebianco will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Montebianco darts in and clinches Danaher up against the cage. Montebianco has Danaher pressed against the cage.
Danaher tries to break the clinch but Montebianco is controlling the position. Danaher is trying to break free. Danaher working hard to break the clinch. Danaher tries to circle away but Montebianco has him pinned against the cage. Montebianco keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Danaher's efforts to push away. Danaher tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danaher misses with a punch on the inside.
Danaher has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Montebianco is trying to force a seperation but Danaher has the dominant position. Danaher has Montebianco pressed against the cage, preventing Montebianco from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montebianco blocks an elbow strike from Danaher.
Danaher stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Danaher escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick from Danaher lands but Montebianco takes it in his stride. Danaher takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Montebianco looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Montebianco shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Montebianco sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danaher blocking the ground and pound attempt from Montebianco. Montebianco controlling the action here. Danaher looks like he's trying to stand up.
Montebianco is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Danaher!

Montebianco slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Montebianco lands a shot to the head. Montebianco throwing wild punches that miss their target. Lorenzo Montebianco has got the better of the ground game so far. Danaher trying to get back to his feet but Montebianco is in full control for now. Montebianco is persistently looking for the submission but Danaher is defending it well.
Montebianco is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Danaher is defending well though. Montebianco let's go of the attempt for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good control from Montebianco. Danaher is trying to stand back up. Montebianco has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Danaher has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montebianco just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lorenzo Montebianco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round! Danaher slaps away a takedown attempt from Montebianco, before circling back to the center of the mat. Danaher tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Montebianco manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Danaher stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Danaher wants it to stay on the feet. John Danaher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Danaher pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Danaher throws a sloppy head kick and Montebianco moves out of range easily. Danaher lands a leg kick that knocks Montebianco off balance momentarily. Montebianco fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. John Danaher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lorenzo Montebianco. Danaher misses the shot to the body. Danaher is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Danaher throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Montebianco's head. Montebianco throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Danaher fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Montebianco has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Danaher lands a high kick!
Danaher leaves Montebianco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montebianco chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Danaher can pounce on him.
Montebianco rushes Danaher and presses him up against the cage. Montebianco wants to take the fight to the mat but Danaher manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Montebianco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Danaher is trying to break free. Montebianco is trying to force a seperation but Danaher has the dominant position. Danaher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Danaher throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Montebianco's head. Danaher tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Montebianco was well out of range. Poor timing from Danaher. A swing and a miss from Montebianco. John Danaher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Danaher connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Danaher misses with a hook. Montebianco ducked under it nicely. Danaher lands a nice leg kick that just misses Montebianco's sensitive parts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Danaher. Montebianco does a little dance to reset his feet. Danaher misses with a low kick.
Danaher doesn't manage to clinch there - Montebianco circles away.
Danaher stuffs the takedown. Danaher throws a head kick that misses. And Montebianco tries to counter it with a takedown but Danaher pushes his down on his head and steps out. Montebianco pushes Danaher up against the cage in a clinch. Montebianco fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Montebianco is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Danaher pulls him back up using the underhooks. Danaher looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Montebianco tries to pull guard but Danaher holds him up against the cage and eventually Montebianco drops back down to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Danaher breaks from the clinch.
Danaher lands with a kick to the temple. Montebianco shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Danaher throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Danaher looks to land a body kick but Montebianco moved away. Good standup being displayed there by Danaher as he connects with a hook. Danaher tries to clinch up. Danaher fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Danaher throws a nice head kick!
Danaher lands with a kick to the temple. Montebianco shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Danaher goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Danaher throws a lazy right hand but Montebianco sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Danaher lands a head kick!
Danaher misses the jab. Danaher misses with a looping right. A countering left hand to the body from Montebianco misses. Montebianco closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montebianco is working for a kimura but Danaher is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Danaher tries to kick Montebianco off but Montebianco keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Montebianco slows the pace down in half guard.
